In His Care!
We have been talking about being in His care.
When He said you must be born again, He saw this as necessary in order for us to be in His care.
This is a choice between light and darkness, in His care or the enemies care.
When we only want to be in His care when things run-amuck, we have a very hard time trusting Him since we have been making decisions thinking that God was in them and when everything falls apart well, we have a tendency to blame God or suggest that we might not be able to trust Him.
The wrong perception of God causes us to fight Him, the right one causes us to surrender!
In His care never means hiding behind Him and doing nothing. But it literally means being in Him and “Through our God we shall do valiantly!”
The victim mentality only causes us to yield to our old man and sin.
When the Bible says the battle belongs to the Lord, it is giving us direction. You cannot go ahead of Him or behind Him, you have to walk and talk as He does. Do what He says, talk what He talks and go where He says.
14 Yeshua the Messiah did this so that in union with him the Gentiles might receive the blessing announced to Avraham, so that through trusting and being faithful, we might receive what was promised, namely, the Spirit.
The reason why He said, “Be in the world but not of it!” Is because of the fact that if we fail to fight the good fight of faith according to The Lord we will fail.
As we talked about last week, Jesus did not look at the present circumstances as the end result, but He trusted God and the finished work He promised.
That is why the Word says;
Colossians 2:15 (NIV)
15And having disarmed the powers and authorities, he made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them by the cross.[L]
See while the devil was throwing a party about how he had won, and tried to make a spectacle of what was being done to Jesus, God had His plan and getting ready to put the enemy and his hoards to open shame.
The secret the enemy does not want to let get out is the fact that he was defeated 2000 years ago and that anyone who embraces the process of the cross, will not only see the defeat of the enemy, but walk in Resurrection Life!
This is the reason for Paul’s cry;
Philippians 3:10 (NIV)
10I want to know Christ—yes, to know the power of his resurrection and participation in his sufferings, becoming like him in his death,
When people don’t understand, they have a tendency to ask, “Was Paul a masochist?”.
Of course not, he simply understood the process of the cross and the victory it would bring.
Hebrews 11:1-3 (NIV)
1Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see. 2This is what the ancients were commended for.3By faith we understand that the universe was formed at God’s command, so that what is seen was not made out of what was visible.
So here again faith is being described not as a feeling, something we see or hear, but it simply describing something different and that difference is the Kingdom of God, the power of God, The Word of God. In one Word, GOD SAID, no matter what is going on!
We have been born again…..
1 Peter 1:23 (NIV)
23For you have been born again, not of perishable seed, but of imperishable, through the living and enduring word of God.
What does it mean? We WIN!
