                                          “DO NOT BE AFRAID!”

Luke 1:29-33 (NIV)

29Mary was greatly troubled at his words and wondered what kind of greeting this might be. 30But the angel said to her, “Do not be afraid, Mary; you have found favor with God. 31You will conceive and give birth to a son, and you are to call him Jesus. 32He will be great and will be called the Son of the Most High. The Lord God will give him the throne of his father David, 33and he will reign over Jacob’s descendants forever; his kingdom will never end.”

 The Word of God tells us over and over again not to fear!  Just like Mary, every believer gives birth to Jesus in their lives as they allow the Holy Spirit to take control.

When we like Mary humble ourselves to the will of God, we see His purposes and plans fulfilled in our lives.

Now let’s talk about Jesus, surrounded by the Love of the Father, in the perfect atmosphere.  Why?  Because there is no strife there, no sickness, no lack, no fear and so on…

But because He is Love, He was attracted to come to this world, filled with all of the above in order to set us free and give us His Life in return.

He could only do this by Him taking upon Himself our sin, all we were and all we did.

Why?  Because of Love!

Today, we have to remind ourselves again that this is an exchanged life, His Life for ours.  Failure to remember that only takes us to a lifeless religion filled with legalism, condemnation and defeat.

When we begin to value more who we think we are instead of following the direction of the Holy Spirit for our lives, death begins to creep in and cloud our senses about who Christ is in us and who we are in Him.  Therefore, separating us from the very Life or Power that sustains us and leaving us in a dead religion.

Colossians 1:27

New International Version (NIV)

27 To them God has chosen to make known among the Gentiles the glorious riches of this mystery, which is Christ in you, the hope of glory.

We have to remember that even when He was born, He did not come to a palace where silk clothing was awaiting Him.  He was born in a stable, but He never took the time to compare where He came from and where He ended up.

The Word of God tells us;

Philippians 2:6-8

Who, being in very nature[a] God,did not consider equality with God something to be used to his own advantage;
rather, he made himself nothing by taking the very nature[b] of a servant,
    being made in human likeness.
And being found in appearance as a man,he humbled himself by becoming obedient to death—even death on a cross!

His mind was on the end result.  Let us therefore not set aside the Grace of God.

Galatians 2:20-21

New International Version (NIV)

20 I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me. 21 I do not set aside the grace of God, for if righteousness could be gained through the law, Christ died for nothing!”[a]

Fear puts a stop to the Prophesy of the Word in our lives!

Let us truly celebrate Jesus this Christmas and begin this New Year in the Hope of Glory.  Christ in us!

Merry Christmas and a Very Happy New Year,
