Honor – honesty, fairness, or integrity in one’s beliefs and actions: a man of honor. a source of credit or distinction:
to be an honor to one’s family. high respect, as for worth, merit, or rank: to be held in honor. such respect manifested:
a memorial in honor of the dead. high public esteem; fame; glory: He has earned his position of honor.
the privilege of being associated with or receiving a favor from a respected person, group, organization, etc.: to have the honor of serving on a prize jury; I have the honor of introducing this evening’s speaker.
We know that when we talk about God our honor and esteem of Him should be greater.
He asked us to learn from Him, so let’s see what He says about us;
1 Peter 2:9-10 NLT
But you are not like that, for you are a chosen people. You are royal priests, a holy nation, God’s very own possession. As a result, you can show others the goodness of God, for he called you out of the darkness into his wonderful light. “Once you had no identity as a people; now you are God’s people. Once you received no mercy; now you have received God’s mercy.”
We can see by reading these words the honor and respect He bestows upon His people.
God loves to honor and exalt His people. The Word of God tells us that the Queen of Sheba was amazed at the greatness of King Solomon’s kingdom.
We have to be careful that we do not fall in love with the blessing and forget about The Lord who gave it to us.
Malachi 1:6-7 NLT
The Lord of Heaven’s Armies says to the priests: “A son honors his father, and a servant respects his master. If I am your father and master, where are the honor and respect I deserve? You have shown contempt for my name! “But you ask, ‘How have we ever shown contempt for your name?’ “You have shown contempt by offering defiled sacrifices on my altar. “Then you ask, ‘How have we defiled the sacrifices?’ “You defile them by saying the altar of the Lord deserves no respect.
Because we are in the last days we have to be very careful that we do not allow the system of the world to corrupt our relationship with God!
Today respect and honor are words that are seldom used or acted upon.
As children of the most High God, these words need to be prevalent not just in our conversation but in our lifestyle. The reason being is that this kind of lifestyle allows us to walk in the patience necessary to see the manifestation of the Word of God, His Mercy and Loving Kindness!
Like I have said many times before, patience is not putting up with, but it is waiting in faith for the outcome expected of the Honor and Supremacy of the Word of God!
Psalm 125:1-5 NLT
Those who trust in the Lord are as secure as Mount Zion; they will not be defeated but will endure forever. Just as the mountains surround Jerusalem, so the Lord surrounds his people, both now and forever. The wicked will not rule the land of the godly, for then the godly might be tempted to do wrong. O Lord, do good to those who are good, whose hearts are in tune with you. But banish those who turn to crooked ways, O Lord. Take them away with those who do evil. May Israel have peace!
Trust and obedience is merely a demonstration of the Honor and Respect that we have for the Greatness of our God!
He is able to do exceedingly, so let’s obey and trust Him!
